    The present study investigated the career consciousness of 445 young Japanesepublic servants (aged 20 to 35) with high job turnover. A questionnaire was conductedwith two groups: the Private-public Transitions Group (N = 377) and the Intra-publicTransitions Group (N = 68).The result indicated that while the Intra-public Transitions Group increasedtheir job satisfaction rate in conjunction with their work content, the Private-publicTransitions Group increased their satisfaction level due to their benefits, treatment,and working conditions. Furthermore, the results disclosed that there was a positivecorrelation between "stability orientation" and career consciousness among the participantswho had worked for up to five years in their new positions or who were satisfiedwith their current benefits and treatment.Interestingly, for the male participants who were satisfied with their workingcondition, their willingness to stay with their current positions and to change jobsheavily relies on the satisfaction rate of their benefits and treatment in their workplace.On the other hand, in the case of participants who worked for 5 to 10 years intheir new positions, the result adversely affected their career consciousness.The paper also discusses the possibility of career development and the difficultyof employees maintaining a self-awareness of career development possibilities understable working conditions

    Based on a regression analysis using the micro data (n=108), this paper aims toclarify crucial factors that can lead to continued employment among workers at YouthSupport Station and other similar facilities. We adopted about 8 explanatory variablessuch as the regular employment pattern, work consciousness, and insecure conditions.The results of our estimation, carried out by means of the binomial logit-model,produced several interesting findings, with anxiety and frustration caused by insecurework conditions being the most salient positive effect on whether employment can besustained or not.Above–mentioned analysis suggested the possibility of existence of complicatedfactors associated with the client in respect to continued employment of job assistantworker

    女性公務員の主観的キャリア意識に関する実証研究

    The author conducted a regression analysis using the data of 1,981 female public servants throughout Japan. In order to assess individuals\u27 subjective career consciousness, the author examined three aspects:(1)professional life decisions,(2)intentions for continued employment, and(3)the affirmation of their own lives. The analysis of the two cohorts: local and non-local female public servants, revealed the following characteristics. Working as a regular, local public servant has some status for people who live locally and public service is regarded as a good job. And also for people who work locally, family support and room to choose other occupations are associated with feelings of power over one\u27s own life. The non-local public servants were more likely to assign greater importance to occupational stability than the local public servants. And also for the non-local public servants, the determination to spend the remainder of one\u27s life in a place other than the local area was deeply related to their professional life decisions. Both cohorts showed similar results in that objective factors such as age, marital status, and conditions of employment strongly affect intentions with regard to continued employment. Furthermore, the level of employment satisfaction in both cohorts generally inhibited the intention to continue the same job, which indicates the possibility that they had to accept even unsatisfactory employment status and continue working. With regard to the affirmation of one\u27s own life, although they tended to affirm their life along with aging and marriage, the years of service were not significant for them. Results clarified that the judgment of their own lives was not based merely on professional life

    6U CubeSat for Ultraviolet Time-Domain Astronomy

    A wide-field ultraviolet observatory for time-domain astronomy utilizing 6U CubeSat is presented. Ultraviolet waveband is one of the unexplored fields in astronomy. Potential targets are short duration transient sources in UV-band: early-phase emission from gravitational wave sources, supernovae shock-breakouts, tidal disruption events around super massive blackholes, etc. The telescope was designed for covering the large error circle of GW detectors, FoV~100 deg2. Thanks to the high quantum efficiency of “delta-doping” detector, the detection limit achieves 20 mag (AB) for 1800 s exposure in NUV band, which is sufficient to detect UV emission from a binary neutron star merger within 200 Mpc from the earth. The satellite has a high-performance on-board computer for on-orbit analysis to detect transient sources and measure the magnitude and the accurate position of the target. The obtained information is required to be transferred to the ground within 30 min from the detection to start multi-messenger follow-up observations utilizing ground-based observatories and astronomical satellites.     Krafft temperature and enthalpy of solution of N-acyl amino acid surfactants and their racemic modifications: Effect of the amino acid residue

    金沢大学工学部The Krafft temperatures and the enthalpies of solution of six kinds of N-hexadecanoyl amino acid surfactant (Gly, Ala, Val, Leu, Ile, and Phe) were obtained from both solubility measurements and differential scanning calorimetry. It was shown that the Krafft temperature of N-hexadecanoyl amino acid surfactant increased with decreasing size of the amino acid residue except for the case of phenylalanine. On the other hand, the enthalpy of solution was endothermic and increased with decreasing size of the amino acid residue except for the cases of glycine and phenylalanine. It was found from these results that the D-L interaction was superior to the L-L interaction in solid state of N-hexadecanoyl amino acid surfactant salt for both the alanine and phenylalanine systems. It was suggested by ab initio calculations that the difference of the magnitude of the peptide-peptide hydrogen bonding was the dominant factor for the chiral effect

    金沢大学工学部The Krafft temperatures and enthalpies of solution of N-hexadecanoyl alaninate and valinate, and N-tetradecanoyl phenylalaninate were obtained from differential scanning calorimetry. The Krafft temperature of N-acyl amino acid surfactant increased with decreasing size of the counter ion, with some exceptions. The enthalpy of solution was endothermic and increased with decreasing size of the counter ion except for the cases of lithium salt. The results showed that the L-L interaction in the solid state of N-hexadecanoyl amino acid surfactant salt was superior to the D-L interaction for both the alanine and valine systems when the counter ion size increased. However, the D-L interaction was still advantageous for the phenylalanine system with Cs+ as a counter ion. Both Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy studies and theoretical calculations suggested that the difference in magnitudes of the interactions between peptide and counter ion was a dominant factor for the chiral effect

    DNA Amplification and Nucleotide Sequence Determination of a Region of Mitochondrial DNA in the Sea Snake, Laticauda Semifasciata

    We determined the nucleotide sequence of a region of the 12S ribosomal RNA (rRNA) gene in the mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) of the sea snake, Laticauda semifasciata, using the polymerase chain reaction (PCR). We synthesized oligonucleotide primers according to the nucleotide sequence of human mt DNA 12S rRNA gene and found that the target sequence (386bp) of the sea snake mtDNA could be amplified with these primers. The nucleotide sequence of the amplified region of the sea snake mt DNA was determined on six separate plasmid clones for each individual snake DNA and matched completely among the DNA samples of three sea snakes. The sequence homology in the region of the mtDNA 12S rRNA gene between L. semifasciata and human is 69.1%
